Welcome to Columbia, MD! Columbia is an active community encompassing several "villages" including King's Contrivance, Hickory Ridge, River Hill, Harper's Choice, Town Center, Oakland Mills, just to name a few! Much of the early development was done by James Rouse who envisioned a community with so many walk-able areas, that cars would be "optional". Still trying to realize his dream, Columbia developers are working on new parks, condo's, restaurants, and shopping that will optimize mobility without total reliance on cars. With it's close proximity to Baltimore and DC, Columbia has been a major commuting hot spot. With home prices very reasonable for working families, along with being part of the Excellent school system of Howard County, Columbia is rapidly growing!
